The terrible earthquake occurred on 24 August 2016 in Central Italy was followed by other earthquakes in the same area. The last one, which fortunately caused no victims, happened on the 30 October 2016 at 6:40 UTC in Norcia. Norcia is an old medieval town where St. Benedict, the founder of the Benedictine monastic order, was born in 480. The earthquake destroyed the Basilica of St. Benedict and heavily damaged many buildings.
As we saw in the previous article A comparison of two earthquakes the lunar eclipse of 28 September 2015 seems to have effected the earthquake occurred in Central Italy at the end of August 2016. So let’s look at the same eclipse for Norcia.
The chart is almost the same one that we have already seen for Amatrice. The horoscopes are different only for few seconds. As in the other case, the effects of the eclipse should last till the first week of November. So the earthquake swarm, which concerned that region since the ruinous earthquake of last August, and particularly the last one in Norcia are in the time window influenced by the eclipse. The lord of the eclipse are Saturn and Jupiter and Saturn is quite strong at the subterranean pivot.
Let’s note that Mars is with the star Regulus, the heart of Leo.
The syzygy before the earthquake
The Moon is Aries and Mars at the subterranean pivot exalted in Capricorn, the Saturn domicile. Moreover the Moon is in square, though a quite wide one, with her Lord, Mars. So Mars is the Lord of the syzygy. Let’s note that Mars is exactly at the IC. Moreover the Moon is in a wide trine with Saturn and she is moving away from the opposition to Mercury. Mars and Saturn are in aspect with the horoscope and Jupiter and Mercury on the eastern horizon. The star Antares, of nature of Mars and Jupiter, is with Saturn. The star Arcturus, of nature of Mars and Jupiter, is rising. Let’s note that the Ascendent-Descendent axis is close to the solar-lunar axis of the eclipse.
The Moon is moving away from the square of Mars and applying to the Sun but she is not visible since she is already to close to the Sun. Moreover the Moon is also in square in mundo with Mars. Saturn is with Venus and the star Antares. The star Regulus, which at the time of the eclipse was with Mars, is exactly at the MC. Ptolemy in the Tebrabiblos Bk II Chp III, talking about the familiarity of the regions of the Earth with the triplicities and the planets, says that Leo is the sign that rules Italy. He actually means the sign of the tropic zodiac and not the constellation. Though we see that Regulus, the heart of Leo, seems quite highlighted in these charts. Even if the now Regulus in no more in sign of Leo but at the beginning of Virgo, this concurrence contributes to remind that the very heart of Italy was hit again.
